Day 466 - November 23, 2010

There's a chill in the air here in Southern California. A crispness each morning that reminds me of Thanksgiving celebrations back home in Canada. Although I'm missing the smell of dried leaves and the sound they make under foot. Palm trees just don't cut it this time of year.

This will be our first American Thanksgiving and we've been celebrating this season for weeks now. A can of pumpkin puree sits on our kitchen counter begging to be made into delicious pumpkin raisin muffins. A pair of sweet potatoes call out hoping to become a part of tonight's dinner. And a large pot of butternut squash soup is simmering on the stove. I just love this time of year and the opportunity it allows us to reflect on what we're thankful for. Give thanks today.
