Day 441 - October 29, 2010
Look who still has access to the internet! Hooray! But it doesn't look like I'll have much time to enjoy my extra day of service since I'll be lugging this (and a whole lot more than hasn't been packed yet)...
...into an elevator, down a flight of stairs, and into a cargo van. Then driving it 30 minutes South (that is if there's no traffic), then carrying it up a flight or two of stairs and into our new home. Oh, and did I mention I'm doing it alone? Hubby's working and the cargo van is due back tomorrow before noon so I'm our only option. It's going to be a long lonely day, but it'll be so worth it to spend the night in our new place!

Day 440 - October 28, 2010
We lose our internet and cable today. Boo. :( Good thing I saved all the packing and cleaning for today since it's going to be an extremely long day without my dear friends TV and wireless internet. The good news is, we should be back online Saturday afternoon, if my new friend Hubert, the cable guy, keeps his promise. We should also be completely moved in to our new place by Saturday. Since the rental company we're borrowing a cargo van from is only open until noon on Saturday, it looks like we'll be making our move Friday night. Nothing like lugging your mattress up a few flights of stairs in the dead of night. Wish us luck (and strength)!

Day 437 - October 25, 2010
So you know how we thought we had our apartment situation all worked out? Well, an hour ago, everything was, once again, up in the air. I started calling other apartments in the area and praying that God would show us what to do and would help to settle the uneasiness we were feeling. Prayers were answered quickly, (very quickly...thank you, Lord!) and now I am so happy to be able to finally say with certainty that we will be moving into our new apartment this weekend! Which is a very good thing since the utilities in our current apartment are being shut off next Monday. And thanks to my husband's persistence with Larry, the leasing agent, we will not have to pay 4x the deposit amount for being Canadian. Phew! Time to celebrate with a simple fall recipe I've been dying to try for Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese. Oh, and I guess I should start packing.

Day 435 - October 23, 2010
Saturday Ramblings
My husband woke up this morning and the first thing out of his mouth was, "I have a feeling this is going to be a very unproductive day." With the way our days, weeks, and months have been lately, an unproductive day around the house sounds glorious! We have not a single plan this weekend, oh, except for maybe a leisurely stroll around the neighbour in the beautiful morning sunshine. Awww...this is the day we waited so long for.
Last night, we enjoyed a delicious authentic Italian meal with friends. The restaurant was this charming little place with a gorgeous old tin ceiling, a mixture of industrial looking light fixtures and beautiful crystal chandeliers, and they even had old black and white films projected on the walls. But the thing that really got us was when we went to use the restroom. Instead of playing "That's Amore" or some other Italian song, the woman in the speakers taught us how to speak Italian. Now, I don't know when I'll ever use, "Where's the back of the church?" or "Shoe shop" in Italian, but I did think it was a clever idea and secretly wish my bathroom at home would teach me Spanish so I could understand the 99 cent Only Store cashier at check stand #1.
What else? Well, we're suppose to be moving into our new apartment in less than a week and we still haven't heard back from Larry the leasing agent to let us know everything's a go. He assured us this morning that we would know by tonight if everything checked out fine. It seems that after a week of very little progress, Larry was finally able to send off all the necessary paperwork, so, while I'm not holding my breath, I guess things are looking up.

Day 430 - October 18, 2010
It's not every day we get dressed up and go out on the town. In fact, I spend most of my days at home in pjs, sweats, or a simple sundress. So when this beautiful invitation came our way, I knew we needed to pull out the big guns and dress to impress.
So, the day before the big movie premiere (yes, we waited until the last minute), we headed out in search of the perfect attire. After much searching, I was thrilled to find a super short, super tight, and super sexy (according to hubby) black satin dress for only $30.99!! I decided that for one night, I would embrace every curve, show more leg than I'm usually comfortable with, and just be confident! I truly felt like a million bucks! As for my hubby, we found him a sharp looking suit for 75% off and boy, did he look handsome! I was so proud to be on his arm all night long.
So, what was all this fuss about? On Saturday night, we had the privilege of attending the premiere of Disney's Tangled in Hollywood's famous El Capitan Theatre. (Let me pause for a moment here to say, guess who was sitting across the aisle from us? Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi!! I had a total celebrity freak out moment inside, but was able to keep it cool on the outside so as not to embarrass my hubby in front of his colleagues.) Anyway, back to Tangled. The lighting, the cinematography, the special effects, the music, and the animation all came together to create the most beautiful animated film I have ever seen. Not only was it visually stunning, but the story was full of humour, action, and romance. Incredible is the only word I have to describe this movie and I can't wait for the world to see it!
We were at the premiere and wrap party to not only see Disney's 50th Animated Feature, but also to celebrate the incredibly talented and hard working crew that spent the last 2 years making Disney history. I felt so honoured to attend this celebration and so extremely proud of my husband for his dedication to this film over the last 9 months. It will never get old seeing my husband's name up on the big screen.
Greg, you are more talented than you would ever give yourself credit for. You helped create a film that will stand along side Disney's greatest works. I can't wait to see else God has in store for you. I am so thankful to be able to share this amazing journey with you. I love you, babe!

Day 414-419 - October 2-7, 2010
You may be wondering where I've been all week. For starters, we drove from California to Ontario in 3 days and since arriving home, there has been far too much visiting, game playing, turkey eating, nephew kissing, and birthday celebrating to do. That leaves me very little time for blogging and I'm perfectly fine with that. I'll pop in every once in a while and get back to blogging when hubby goes back to work.
