Day 34 - June 28, 2011
Everyone that meets Adelyn is shocked to hear that she's only 1 month old. "She's a big girl," they all say. But just how big is she? Well, I took her to the pediatrician this morning and she's already 22 inches long and a whopping 12 pounds! That puts her in the 95th percentile! Looks like our girly's a bit of an overachiever like her Mommy.

Greg, three years ago today, I held your hands, looked into your eyes, and vowed to support and encourage you to follow your passion as you encourage me to chase my own dreams. Today, I want you to know that my greatest dream has come true. I am a mother. There is no greater gift you could have given me than our beautiful daughter.

I love you with the breaths, smiles, and tears of all my life.

Sprout Shell Chic Infant Carrier Covers
Review & Giveaway
Review & Giveaway
Throughout my pregnancy, I spent a lot of time researching baby products and asking other moms about their baby must-haves. Now, as a new mom, it's more important to me than ever to find quality baby products that are safe, multi-functional, stylish, and affordable. The Sprout Shell Infant Carrier Cover is just that.

I must admit that I was a little bit skeptical about the Sprout Shell initially. I didn't doubt that it was a great product, but I did find myself wondering, "Couldn't I just use a blanket to cover the car seat?" The other day, we headed out to Costco for the first time as a new little family of 3. I filled our diaper bag up with diapers, wipes, diaper cream, a burp cloth, an extra sleeper, a receiving blanket, and a pacifier. It was only when we arrived at Costco that I realized I had forgotten to grab the Sprout Shell. "Oh well," I thought. "At least I brought an extra blanket." My husband put the car seat in the large shopping cart and I threw a receiving blanket over the carrier's handle. As we walked the aisles, I could hear little peeps from inside the tent I had created and I found myself constantly lifting the blanket to make sure Adelyn was okay. Later, as we walked towards our car, a gust of wind blew the receiving blanket off of the car seat. It was then that I understood why Moms love the Sprout Shell.

Not only does the Sprout Shell have an all-around elastic to keep it from blowing off, but it also has a hole in the top that allows for air circulation, lets you keep an eye on baby, and allows you to reach in and give baby a pacifier without having to constantly take the cover off.
The Sprout Shell is the perfect thing to protect Adelyn's soft newborn skin and sensitive eyes from the bright California sunshine. It's also the ideal cover to take with us to the beach to keep the cool ocean breeze and sand off of our beach baby. Plus, it creates a cozy little space for napping while we're out and about.

The Sprout Shell has many other uses such as a nursing cover while breastfeeding in public or a shopping cart cover as your child grows. It's even great as a clean surface for diaper changing if you find yourself in a pinch or as a light blanket in air conditioned spaces.

The Sprout Shell is made of soft 100% cotton, is machine washable, and comes in many adorable patterns. In honor of their 3rd birthday celebration, Sprout Shell has generously offered to give one of my readers their choice of any infant carrier cover! Yay!
Happy Birthday, Sprout Shell!

Check out Project Nursery's recap of the PLUSH show here. I am so touched by the sweet things they had to say about our visit to their booth. Looking forward to seeing more pictures soon!

Day 12 - June 6, 2011
I'm a little disappointed that I never heard back from the Orange County photographer about the opportunity for our little girlie to be one of their newborn models for a workshop today, but I was thrilled when another incredible opportunity came my way this weekend.

Have you heard of Project Nursery? They are a fabulous site that feature adorable nursery designs, DIY projects, party ideas, amazing giveaways, and so much more! Last week, they hosted a giveaway for 3 of their lucky readers to win tickets to attend the luxury LA baby and toddler show, PLUSH! I'm sure by now you can guess who won the VIP tickets. Yep, girlie and I spent the day chatting with other moms and babies, entering to win amazing giveaways, and learning about the latest and greatest baby products.

Hands down, my favorite part of the day was when we stopped by the Project Nursery and PetitNest booth. (And I'm not just saying that because they gave me the tickets.) Their booth was beyond gorgeous! It was designed by PetitNest's Tiffani Thiessen (yep, Kelly from Saved by the Bell) and Lonni Paul (from HGTV's Design Star). I wish I had taken more pictures of it.

Anyway, there was a sweet photographer there who was amazing and captured some shots of me and my girl! I cannot wait to see them! And my cutie may just make her way onto Project Nursery's blog sometime this week. I'll keep you posted.

Wow! I'm just now realizing that I started writing this post almost 5 hours ago. With feedings, diaper changes, dinner, and play time, simple tasks can take 10x longer than they used to. It's about time I wrap this up and head to bed to snuggle with my sweet babe.
