What a great idea! I should make one for Audrey's crib so it doesn't end up looking like Jacobs.. his is completely chewed up. What did you use for padding?
Many tutorials I saw called for a quilted fabric, but it's much more expensive than batting, so I just went with regular batting. It was a lot cheaper and just as effective. I ended up spending less than $20 on supplies (fabric, batting, & thread) for all three crib rails. I way overestimated how much I would need. I probably only used $2-3 worth of materials for the front rail. An inexpensive project that will save our crib for babies to come.
Here is the tutorial I followed: http://www.lifeonthepeanuttrail.com/448/diy-crib-rail-protector/
