Day 246 - January 26, 2012
but I can get myself around the room, even if I only move backwards and sideways.
After 8 months, Mommy still can't stop kissing my cheeks!

Day 244 - January 24, 2012
We walk. Daily. We walk surrounded by swaying palm trees and blue waters that shimmer in the sunshine. We walk past creaking boats and admire the snow capped mountains in the distance. Beauty is all around us. But I would trade the palm trees and the water. The boats and the mountains. It is the tiny heels that click with excitement as we stroll. It is the little laugh that I hear as she discovers a colourful toy again. It is the sweet smile that stares up at me that matters. This is the view that makes my heart leap. The view that brings a joy greater than I ever imagined possible. This is a view I wouldn't trade for anything.

Day 237 - January 17, 2012
Adelyn's been training like crazy. For what? I'm not quite sure.
She's been training
noon
and night.
Maybe she got word of the upcoming LA Marathon.
Or maybe it's her subtle way of telling us that it's time for Mommy and Daddy to hit the gym.

Day 235 - January 15, 2012
We're starting to think that Adelyn might just skip the whole crawling phase.

You see, ever since she learned to sit up, she prefers not to spend too much time on her back or tummy. She'll get up onto her hands and knees, do a Pilates plank, and occasionally perform a downward facing dog yoga pose, but all these poses do is propel her backwards. She just can't seem to get the hang of forward motion before begging me to rescue her from her tummy.

These days, Adelyn would much rather be standing.

For the last few weeks, she's been attempting to pull herself up onto anything and everything. This morning, she succeeded in pulling herself up from a sitting to standing position while holding onto the couch.

She has great balance and will often test this balance by letting go with both hands for a few seconds. So, you see, it doesn't look like our girly's going to be crawling any time soon.
