Day 37 - October 31, 2014

What a great night of trick-or-treating in our new neighbourhood!  Adelyn and Briar were met with lots of friendly faces and even some full-size chocolate bars.  Little B loved her first year of trick-or-treating!  She walked confidently up to every house, happily accepted candy from strangers, then promptly turned around, grinning, and ran down the driveway to show Daddy her treat.  She could have gone another hour, but poor big sister tired out early.

Happy Halloween!

Day 33 - October 27, 2014

Adelyn must have loved Thursday's picture as much as I did because on our walk today she said, "Mama, take my picture lying down in the grass again."

Day 31 - October 25, 2014

Not only does our little girl love composting and raking leaves, she has now found a new joy...weeding the lawn!

Day 29 - October 23, 2014

Some of my favourite photos of Adelyn are the ones she doesn't know I'm taking.

Day 22 - October 16, 2014

We have a new member of our family.  Adelyn fell in love with a 49¢ scarecrow this afternoon and she just had to come home with us.  She has named the scarecrow "Emma."  Both my girls are obsessed with Emma.  They constantly check on her in the garden to make sure she's okay.  I have a feeling that if we're out at the dollar store again before Halloween, Emma is going to be getting some new friends.

Day 19 - October 13, 2014

Briar took a fall on our wood floors while running through the house this afternoon.  I scooped her up and sat down on the couch to cuddle and nurse her.  Seeing that Briar was upset, Adelyn suggested we sing "Jesus Loves Me."  Adelyn climbed up onto the couch next to me and we began singing.  Suddenly, she stopped, pulled up her dress and said, "I can feed Briar in my tummy."  "In your tummy?" I asked.  "Ya!  In my belly button!" she exclaimed while laughing.  A few minutes later, the girls were playing when Adelyn stopped, hiked up her dress once again and pulled Briar in close to her.  "I can feed you, Briar.  I can hug you just like Mommy."  Melt my heart!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian family and friends!

Day 17 - October 11, 2014

We continued Daddy's birthday celebration at a waterpark today.  Addy, our little mermaid, was in her element and spent over 4 hours swimming, splashing and water sliding!  Little B impressed us by kicking her legs while holding onto the side of the wading pool.  I have a feeling she'll be ready to swim like her big sister next summer!

Day 16 - October 10, 2014

I loved being able to involve Adelyn in planning Daddy's birthday party this year.  She decorated his birthday cake all by herself and picked out birthday plates she thought he'd like.  "Daddy's gonna love Dora!" she told me at the store.  She couldn't wait for Greg to get home from work and see her beautiful cake and the presents she had helped wrap.  Having little ones makes these special occasions even more wonderful!
