Day 175 - June 23, 2015

This one is something else. Today, she begged me to give her her first pedicure, then proceeded to parade around the house in a pair of open-toed heels to show off the hot pink nail polish she had chosen. This girl brings me so much joy. Love her to pieces!

Day 173 - June 21, 2015

Greg's Father's Day was complete when he looked up above our house and saw "Happy Father's Day" written in the sky. The girls and I organized that surprise just for him (at least that's what we told him).

To the man who makes our daughters' faces light up like no one else can,
Happy Father's Day!  We love you!

After only 6 swimming lessons, our little mermaid climbed onto the diving board and, without hesitation, jumped!  I'm so proud of my fearless little girl!

Day 166 - June 14, 2015

This afternoon, Adelyn had the brilliant idea to wash our car.  I filled a pail, gave her a sponge and she got right to work.  After at least 2 years without a wash, it was definitely time.

Day 164 - June 12, 2015

I sat watching my sweet 4-year-old swim to the edge of the pool all by herself when I felt the tears welling up in my eyes. I swallowed hard and quickly blinked, hoping the wind would dry my tears before they fell onto my cheeks. "I'm so proud of you, my love," I mouthed to her as she looked over, beaming with pride.

It seems that overnight, our little girl has grown up. This week, Greg and I have seen so many positive changes in Adelyn. She has been such a kind, helpful, and loving big sister. I have received so many spontaneous kisses, hugs and I love you's this week. We are so proud of the way she has been handling difficult situations. She carries herself with a maturity we haven't seen before. We pray that God will continue to shape her into a compassionate human being who loves and serves others well.

We are so very proud of you, sweetheart!

Day 156 - June 4, 2015

This little Mommy is always pretending that she has a baby, named Jesus, in her belly.  Today, she snuggled her baby doll, Addy, and I got a glimpse of a future Mama and grandbaby.

Adelyn had her very first swimming lesson today.  Her instructor was impressed with her enthusiasm and love for the water.  That's our little mermaid!
