Day 335 - November 30, 2016

At 29 weeks and 5 days pregnant, our baby is the size of an acorn squash! And yes, that is Briar's baby, Bella, sitting in the tree. She takes her babies everywhere with her these days. She'll often look at me and say, "We're both Mommy's." She is going to be an amazing big sister!

Day 329 - November 24, 2016

I asked the girls, over a delicious Thanksgiving meal at Disneyland, what they were thankful for.

Briar (age 3): "I'm thankful for my parents."

Adelyn (age 5): "I'm thankful for my little baby sister."

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's been a joy volunteering in Adelyn's class this year. Today, I had the privilege of watching 100+ kindergarten students enjoy a Thanksgiving feast!

Day 323 - November 18, 2016

Briar and I were looking at Christmas ornaments and rehanging a few that had fallen. Adelyn grabbed the camera and began photographing us. Looking through the many photos, I found this gem!

Day 317 - November 12, 2016

Last night, we roasted marshmallows on our first family campfire in the backyard. Tonight, we enjoyed a dinner of hotdogs and s'mores around the fire pit and ended the night with campfire songs and bedtime stories. I have a feeling we'll be doing a lot of this this winter.

Day 316 - November 11, 2016

At 27 weeks pregnant, my pregnancy app says I'm finally in the 3rd trimester. I know many websites and apps beg to differ and wouldn't have me in the last trimester until next week, but with the change of due date a few months ago, I feel like I've been in the 2nd trimester for an eternity so I'll take it! This week, our baby is the size of a bunch of bananas!

Day 313 - November 8, 2016

Today, I attended Briar's first parent-teacher conference. I loved hearing stories of my sweet, helpful, kind and independent girl! The most exciting thing her teachers shared was that without prompting, encouragement or an example to follow, Briar wrote her own name for the first time! Just over a month ago, our little girl turned 3 years old and already she's learning to read her sister's Kindergarten sight words and write her name without any help. Maybe I should have seen this coming. This is also the girl that began to walk just 3 days after she turned 8 months old.

Briar Boo, you never cease to amaze me!

Day 306 - November 1, 2016

She knew she wanted our Halloween pumpkin to have a villain on it, but it was difficult to decide on the perfect design. None of the villain carvings on Pinterest were quite right so I suggested she get creative and design her own perfect pumpkin face and I would do my best to help her carve it. She scooped out the pumpkin seeds, drew eyes, nose and a mouth full of teeth on her pumpkin and watched with excitement as her design came to life. She carefully placed a battery operated candle inside and took her jack-o-lantern into the closet for a peek. She came out thrilled with the results of her hard work and couldn't wait for the trick-or-treaters to see her villain last night.
