Day 91 - March 31, 2016

Today, the girls began their much anticipated ballet classes. Briar has been sharing with everyone, from Adelyn's preschool friends to the cashier at the grocery store, that she is a "budding ballerina" (her words, not mine). She wore her ballet shoes with pride and marched right into her first class. Addy and I watched on a closed-circuit TV as she sat patiently, followed every instruction the teacher gave, and stared at the other 2-year-olds as they ran amok as if to say, "You should really sit down and listen."

Our little 2- going on 20-year-old, reminded me again just how grown up she really is as she watched the flashing red lights of a fire truck and ambulance blinking in front of our house. After asking several questions about what was happening and watching our sweet elderly neighbor be lifted into the ambulance, she told me we needed to pray.

"Dear Lord," I began.

"Please get Dorothy safely to the 'hostible' and back home. In Jesus' name, Amen." she finished.

Here is our prayer warrior several weeks ago before dinner.

Day 90 - March 30, 2016

Spring classes began today and the girls are thrilled with their choices. Briar was in her element at her painting class. She loves drawing, painting, and creating art. Adelyn has been begging me to sign her up for a storybook cooking class for the last year. She was especially excited when she found out one of her friends was also taking the class. Today, she cut the cheese that helped create a delicious baked macaroni and cheese.

Day 89 - March 29, 2016

I was getting Briar's jammies on this evening and asked her what she was thankful for today.

"I'm thankful for Mommy, Addy Grace, Daddy and the Justin Beaver song."

Our two-year-old has a mild obsession with Justin Bieber's music. She knows every word to "Love Yourself." She belts it out in the car when it comes on the radio. I can't count the number of times I've walked in on her quietly singing, "My mama don't like you and she likes everyone."

"Is there anything else you're thankful for?" I asked. "I'm thankful for the rainbow we saw tonight."

"Oh yes. Thank you for rainbows."
